Emergency Medical Technician EMT

Read the EMT Basic Course application carefully and completely before registering.

There are strict guidelines and requirements for this
course.

Prerequisites to attend:

  •  18 years of age by graduation
  •  No prior felony convictions
  •  Attain AHA CPR certification prior to course completion date
Recertification requirements:
  • Work or volunteer for an agency that provides EMS services within 2 years of receiving license (local fire department, ski patrol, etc.)
  • Complete 40-hours of continuing education every 2 years

    Course and Study Commitment:

It is estimated that you will spend over 150 hours in the classroom and online course supplement and an additional 10 hours in the Emergency Room for patient observation.  To say the least, this course is INTENSE and moves very quickly!  It requires MATURITY, DEDICATION and plenty of extra STUDY time.  We suggest that for every classroom hour you attend, you must commit to an additional hour of outside study.  If you are an MSU student with a heavy course load, we do NOT recommend taking the course.  In the past, MSU students who carried heavy academic course loads had a very hard time completing this course.  Attendance is required.

You may not miss more than two excused classes and must pass all exams with a minimum score of 70%. If you fail two or more exams – including retests – you will be dropped from this course.

Course registration cost        $950.00

This price does not include the textbook, which you may purchase on your own or  you may also purchase through BPM, or other associated immunization costs and licensing fees as found on the course website

There is a $300 Non-Refundable deposit required to hold your seat.

The remaining $650.00 is due on the first day of class. Alternately you may mail checks to:
