Students must first complete the online portion of the ACLS HeartCodeฎ available HERE. Upon successful completion of the
online portion, including the course exam, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into this Instructor-led hands-on session. This Instructor-led session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, skills testing and megacode testing. This session takes approximately 1.5 to 5 hours depending on student number and experience. Supplement your textbook with this online study companion! Upon successful completion of the online portion, including the course exam, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into this Instructor-led accelerated hands-on session. This accelerated agenda is for experienced students who believe they can demonstrate mastery of the skills associated with high-quality CPR in a shortened but thorough format. This competency-focused agenda allows a learner to demonstrate competency and thus potentially shorten the time required to complete the instructor-led hands-on portion of HeartCode BLS. It will take approximately 25 minutes per student.

AEMT Syllabus Summer 2021 AEMT Schedule To attend this AEMT course a student must: ● Be at least 18 years of age at the time of State Licensing exam ● Have a valid NREMT EMT Certificate ● Have a valid state or U.S Government issued picture identification ● Complete a Best Practice Medication registration application ● High school graduate or GED equivalent ● No prior felony convictions – may be waived on a case by case basis by the MT BOME ● Approved by the Lead Instructor or Medical Director ● Attain AHA BLS CPR certification prior to the beginning of clinical rotations ● Provide proof of student malpractice insurance ● Provide a copy of immunization record (MMR, HEP B, Negative TB Test (PPD)) prior to clinical rotations National EMS Education Standards (2009) AEMT Description: The primary focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.   Course study and commitment: This 200-250 hour course including clinical requirements is INTENSE and moves very quickly! It requires MATURITY, DEDICATION and plenty of extra STUDY time. We suggest that for every classroom hour you attend, you must commit at minimum to an additional hour of outside study.  If you are a university student with a heavy course load, we would NOT recommend taking the course. In the past, university students who carried heavy academic course loads had a very hard time completing this course.  Internet access is required for this course.
